Sylvan Rentals properties require a one-week minimum rental and run from Saturday to Saturday. Arrival check-in time is after 2 p.m. and departure check-out is no later than 10 a.m.

All properties have strict occupancy limits which must not be exceeded at any time. Except for two properties that will permit a pet with advance permission from Sylvan Rentals (one in Harwich and one in Chatham), absolutely no pets are permitted inside or out at any rentals. Also, many properties have a no smoking restriction. If you or a member of your party smokes, please inform the Sylvan agent when you are making a reservation.

Except for a few homes, all properties are housekeeping rentals, which means no maid service or linens (sheets, towels, pillow cases) are provided. Houses must be completely cleaned on departure, left ready for the next tenant. Sylvan Rentals inspects each property between tenants to ensure it is left clean and in good repair. There is a cleaning/security deposit required for all rentals (amount varies with each property). This is refunded within 60 days of departure providing the property was left clean and in good condition.

A few homes include departure cleaning and/or linens. This is noted in the property description.  These properties must still be left tidy, "broom clean" and in a reasonable state on departure, with all dishes and linens washed and put away.

At a minimum, all properties provide full kitchens with all the basics for cooking and cleaning and at least one bathroom with a shower and/or tub. A pillow, blanket, mattress pad and bedspread is provided for each bed in the property.

All rentals have a telephone with free local calls. Please note however that all long distance calls must be charged to your home phone or credit card -- including Internet and E-mail access numbers that are not in the local calling area.

Rental payments are accepted in cash or check. Credit cards are not accepted. For rentals of two weeks or longer, a deposit equivalent to 1/2 the total rent is due when the lease made; the balance is payable on arrival. Payment in full is due with the lease for one week rentals.
